PPR seperti disebalahnya ? akauntan nak menipu tentang
angka boleh la tapi bukan kejuruteraan pembinaan ..

Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth today asked the state government not to twist facts on the sale of land which was supposed to be for phase 2 of a People's Housing Project (PPR) in Taman Manggis, Jalan Burmah, here. Its chief, Oh Tong Keong said BN could not accept the excuse from Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng that the land had to be sold as the size was not big enough for the project.

"The excuse is lame as the development plan for the PPR project on the piece of land there had been prepared by the previous state government under BN," he told reporters, here, today. Oh said the state government had before built a 32-storey apartment in Pulau Tikus and the piece of land was smaller than the one in Taman Manggis.

Lim was reported to have said that the state government had set aside a 2.83ha land in Jalan S.P. Chelliah, Sungai Pinang to replace the land in Taman Manggis. Lim had said that the land in Jalan S P Chelliah would be developed for a low-cost housing project and the land in Taman Manggis sold for the construction of a private hospital.

Oh, however, said that Lim was a confused chief minister who could not differentiate a low-cost housing project from a PPR project. He said PPR houses were houses offered to a certain group for rent at RM100 monthly while low-cost houses were for sale to the lower-income group.

Meanwhile, Penang Umno Youth chief Shaikh Hussein Mydin has also called on the government to return the 0.45ha land to the people as it belongs to them.

"The previous state government under BN had aproved the building of 272 units under phase 2 of the PPR project in Taman Manggis. Therefore, the current government under the opposition pact should continue with the project in the interest of the people," he said. - Bernama
